Rsanter 152 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 I have used the triY headers with the stock linkage and a T5 before with no trouble. You need the zbar for the standard not the hipo application. You can also go with the cable linkage Bob
juit 34 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 Did you buy it for 69? Or the 64-68 that are on ebay will fit? How much distance is from the steer gear box?
Rsanter 152 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 Did you buy it for 69? Or the 64-68 that are on ebay will fit? How much distance is from the steer gear box? I put the setup in a 68 but they are so close that it should still work in the 69. I do have triYs in my 69 but that car is an automatic. The triYs fit perfect on the small block. I have the Zbar from a 69-70 if you need one Bob
juit 34 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 I had the z bar on mine but decided to do a hydraulic clutch conversion
barnett468 418 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 dont be surprised if they hit and need some hammering or hang 8 inches below the car or leak at the exhaust flange because most of them are cheap and poorly made . yes the jba's are pricey but they will fit and not leak and i prefer to only do things once. i use remflex gaskets. barnett468 418 Report post Posted May 5, 2016 what do you think about patriots? buying patriots is like taking your chances in vegas . you might get lucky and you might not . sometimes they dont hit and sometimes they do. cheap parts often yield poor results owning a vintage car is not always a cheap proposition

moodster 55 Report post Posted May 11, 2016 I used JBA mid length and was surprised at how tight the fit is but it works with everything stock. They are very close to the Z-bar but don't interfere. Also they tuck up nice and aren't visible when you look from front to back. The two point ball off the back of the JBA's is the way to go - it allows for a lot more flexibility in getting the exhaust where you want it and it seals up well. I've used Hookers before on a different car and although they fit, they leaked. david
