Tire and Wheel Fit ?

Recommended Posts

Well almost stock suspension.  Added the Arning/Shelby drop awhile back.  Moodster;  your wheels are 15 x 7 with the 4.25" back space ?  Any chance you have a better side shot of your car and wheels ?  This is what my car looks like with the stock 14 x 6 with 4" back space and 215-70-14 wheels.   Thanks,  Brian

Brian, you're correct they are 15x7 with 4.25" backspacing.  I don't think I do have a direct side shot. You can click on my picture and get to my gallery.  I have another shot from the front looking down the side.  Unfortunately the car is in the garage until I can get the engine all ready to run again.  I had no problems with rubbing or anything like that when I drove it for a while.

Moodster thanks for shareing the info about the wheels and tires.  I feel a bit more confident about this wheel and tire combo.  Anybody else running this set up ?   Barnett; from what I gather the OE GOODYEAR F70 x 14 tire was a 26.20" diameter tire.  The FIRESTONES on my car now are 25.20"  and they do look a little small in the wheel well.  The tires in this discussion are 235-60-15 and have a diameter of 26.10".  So if they do fit they will also fill out the wheel well a little more ?  Thanks,  Brian

Thanks for the reply.  Made a correction to my last post the tires on my car, in the photo, are the GOODRICH T/A's 215-70-14.  So your saying over all not much difference in the height ?  Do you have any suggestions for a wheel and tire size to best fill out my wheel wells ? Thanks,  Brian

Thanks guys for the pictures and info.  So it seems for a stock application to get a RWL Radial tire for a 15" wheel  w/4.25 back space it is pretty much two choices; 215-65-15 or 225-60-15.  Brian

i have run 235 x 60 - 15 a zillion times just like a zillion other people have.
