Brian yes, but the 235x60 will look a little small in there if your suspension is stock height.
moodster 55 Report post Posted December 7, 2015 That's exactly what I'm running on mine... no problems. david
Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted December 7, 2015 Well almost stock suspension. Added the Arning/Shelby drop awhile back. Moodster; your wheels are 15 x 7 with the 4.25" back space ? Any chance you have a better side shot of your car and wheels ? This is what my car looks like with the stock 14 x 6 with 4" back space and 215-70-14 wheels. Thanks, Brian
moodster 55 Report post Posted December 7, 2015 Brian, you're correct they are 15x7 with 4.25" backspacing. I don't think I do have a direct side shot. You can click on my picture and get to my gallery. I have another shot from the front looking down the side. Unfortunately the car is in the garage until I can get the engine all ready to run again. I had no problems with rubbing or anything like that when I drove it for a while. david
Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted December 8, 2015 Moodster thanks for shareing the info about the wheels and tires. I feel a bit more confident about this wheel and tire combo. Anybody else running this set up ? Barnett; from what I gather the OE GOODYEAR F70 x 14 tire was a 26.20" diameter tire. The FIRESTONES on my car now are 25.20" and they do look a little small in the wheel well. The tires in this discussion are 235-60-15 and have a diameter of 26.10". So if they do fit they will also fill out the wheel well a little more ? Thanks, Brian
barnett468 418 Report post Posted December 8, 2015 the 235x60-15 will be around 1/4 inch taller than the tires in the red photo and and around 1/8th inch shorter than the firestones
Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted December 8, 2015 Thanks for the reply. Made a correction to my last post the tires on my car, in the photo, are the GOODRICH T/A's 215-70-14. So your saying over all not much difference in the height ? Do you have any suggestions for a wheel and tire size to best fill out my wheel wells ? Thanks, Brian
moodster 55 Report post Posted December 8, 2015 I know you can go much bigger on the rear tires than the front. Here is a picture of a 69 with 275/60R15 tires on the rear... same rims as mine I believe. david

BuckeyeDemon 211 Report post Posted December 9, 2015 this has 15x7, 4.25" backspace, P215/65 tires, zero rub.
Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted December 11, 2015 Thanks guys for the pictures and info. So it seems for a stock application to get a RWL Radial tire for a 15" wheel w/4.25 back space it is pretty much two choices; 215-65-15 or 225-60-15.
