Floorboard hole cover screws

I am putting my car together and I put the hole covers in with the screws I got with the body kit from AMK. The problem I have is the screws go through the floor and extend down over 1/4". It looks like a good place to cut myself. The easy fix is to grind off the part sticking down, but is this correct? :confused1:

I used weather strip adhesive and then put Dynamat over the cover, they aren't going anywhere.

Mine are the same way. Luckily, so far I haven't cut myself. Maybe just grind off the sharp point so if you bump into one you won't get punctured.

Thanks Gentlemen. I did think of glueing them in after I posted. I am putting an insulating mat on the floor as well, so they won't be coming out anytime soon. Now, back to work. :thumbup1:

They did stick through originally ,about 1/4 inch. The end was blunt .
