rodbrady 18 Report post Posted July 7, 2014 I need a replacement hood from my '69 coupe. I have located a used hood, which is supposed to be clean and straight from a salvage yard for $500, including freight. Or I could go with a new "Ford tooling" hood from CJ's for $470 delivered. Any opinions?
Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted July 7, 2014 I have heard many damaged in shipment stories. Apparently hoods don't transit well. The salvage yard hood would be my choice if I could pick it up.. Brian
bobh67 18 Report post Posted July 7, 2014 Get the salvage yard original.... I have had 2 Ford tooling hoods that fit terrible, with bows on one or both sides.
Raven R code 281 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 Where are you located? I have a 69 Mach 1 hood(non ram air) with 5" wide dent on the front edge....but pretty clean with original black-out option. It came off the car in 1973. Dave
