1969vert 55 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 Just did a search on google and it said most pumps put up 1000 to 1200 psi ..so that beaing the case...it should work... I also seen if to much pressure.. a restrictor to be put in line to give more road feel...anyone else.. do a swap>> I have seen many late model ( 5.0 )swaps with the plastic resivor on them... I woud try it..
SA69mach 39 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 I believe the Ford factory pumps will be supplying the same approximate pressure. What you might want to measure is the pulley size of the original pump and the newer pump. I would want to keep the sizes the same if the pumps put out the same pressure/volume. Altering the pulley size too far either way will affect pressure. Best to give Dan at Chockostang a call and ask him. good man, and a wealth of knowledge for all things PS for Mustangs. I also think he will know straight off what you want to know.
