harlan69mach 21 Report post Posted May 30, 2014 The owners manual and Ford service manual for 69 lists 1178A for the bulb in the front side marker. Our Mach 1 built in January has 194 bulbs in them. What bulb do you have in your 69?
TimFF 11 Report post Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Hi Bob I've been fiddling with my rear markers and they had 194s used on my February 69 build. Can't comment on my fronts as they've had a LED board inserted (which is what I was doing with my rears...) but it would seem reasonable to assume they were the same. cheers Tim Edited May 30, 2014 by TimFF
69RavenConv 286 Report post Posted May 30, 2014 ... it would seem reasonable to assume they were the same. Tim is right, 194 bayonets. 1178A are the dual filament amber bulbs in the front turn signals and won't fit in the side marker housing. I used cheap 194/T10 LED bulbs in the stock sockets, they work well.
Raven R code 281 Report post Posted May 30, 2014 i'm going to try going LED on my car. Some of my side marker sockets look like they overheated and melted.
Midlife 814 Report post Posted May 31, 2014 I've seen both 1895's and 194's in the rear side marker lamps on 69's and 70's...kinda weird that they were not consistent throughout the years.
