  1. I too joined up recently, no hassle at all apart from the confirmation mail hitting my junk folder. Took just a few minutes from start to finish.
  2. Here you go - mine has the same option. Can't comment on the operation as I've never seen either light up, and am not even going to try to sort it out...
  3. 1969 Rover 2000. Bought as it was available on the farm I was working on at the time, but rather rusty. I slid it into a parked Volvo in the snow - guess which came off worst? Luckily it had a unique construction where all the body panels (including the roof) bolted onto the 'chassis' - so didn't I do just that... Then I got it sprayed and it looked a bit better... And sold shortly after as I'd already acquired its replacement - in the background in the 'before' photo.
  4. I had a duff mechanical VR but it manifested itself by the Alt light staying on - I don't recall the interior lights dimming but due to my very narrow garage I don't start mine until the doors are both shut... On removal it rattled when I shook it gently. Pretty sure it shouldn't do that. I replaced it with a solid state one (off the shelf here in the UK luckily) and the Alt light immediately behaved itself.
  5. Mine shows an AM Radio too - though it now has a period 8 track
  6. Oh ****... Be careful with the whiplash, a 30mph rear ender is not an insignificant force even if you had a moment to brace. Here in the UK it's up to the other driver to put you back to the pre accident condition; it's not up to them (or their insurer) to decide your property isn't worth them fixing. I hope that's similar for you.
  7. Mine also started out as Indian Fire Red - it lost that in the mists of time... Otherwise it's nearly identical bar the lack of AC and posi but mine does have a tach dash - build date February 13 in San Jose and bound for Portland OR. Looks very nice
  8. Being in a RHD country too I've made the very occasional return to the wrong side of the Mustang - usually when I've just paid for fuel and am trying to wedge the paperwork back in my wallet. Not got as far as actually opening the door, just making a 'diversion' in my path, ahem... We have the added fun of being close to Europe, so we can drive over there in a matter of hours from leaving home and vice versa. It's slightly nerve wracking as some people completely forget and don't immediately drive on the right the second they exit the ferry or train. D'oh. Most wrong side accidents don't happen at the terminals - it's usually a few hours in when you stop for a break, relax for an hour or so and then do an Ash as you're no longer on high alert for driving on the right. One day I'll get to drive mine in France on the correct side of the road! Paulb, have you re-used all the dash and steering gear and 'simply(!)' created mirror images? Impressive work! TimFF
  9. Neat - looks a lot tidier with that over large gap removed. After all your hard work it's amazing how a 'few' minutes with a grinder and welder can make such a change to the way the car looks.
  10. Gratuitous image of another Mach 1 with Magnums... in some rare English summer sunshine last year!
  11. Hi Guillaume It was a standard 1.6 from 1991, as you say an iconic car here in it's heyday - noted for lift off oversteer leading to many being totalled by coming off bends at high speed - backwards... Now sought after in unmolested condition, just like this one was.
  12. As I wrote on another post, you're so lucky to have decent size garages... Here's my UK version, and it's bigger than average! It is now tidier in the foreground, I had to create the space to get the Mach 1 in; the previous occupant of the space was a Peugeot 205GTi...
  13. Thanks for all the hard work moving the site! I work in IT and know just how complex re-platforming can be - especially as you're doing it in your own time for the benefit of us all... TimFF
  14. I dream of garages like most of you guys have... Most suburban garages here are just singles, if you even get one... Sizes have come down as housing density goes up - a friend of mine bought a new build some years ago and was stunned that he couldn't get his family compact (right term I hope! in widthways, and then realised it was 2' short anyway! I'm lucky, my 69 just fits but I have to park tight to the drivers side and far enough in to avoid a brick pillar to then allow me to just get the passenger door open enough to slide in. I dare not jack the car from the side, it would be enough to rotate it in to the pillar the other side! Not that I've got enough space to work on it anyway... One day though! Tim PS - its a LOT tidier in there now!
