Circuit board glue

Recommended Posts

Has anyone refurb'd their dash cluster circuit board? My board has delaminated in various locations and I was thinking about peeling the rest back and cleaning with vinegar and regluing it back together.....but not sure what would be the best glue for this application. I'm wondering about 3M spray adhesive or another clear type glue that I can squeegee on.

A clear silicone, like the bathtub caulk. You can get it in clear, and that will work. It stays flexible, if you need it, and is not conductive when it is cured. You have to clamp it together while it is drying, though, and that can be difficult.

I would go with contact cement. Silicone is very acidic, even when cured, so it will corrode the copper strips over time. It will eat a hole through steel as well, so never use it to seal a windshield, either!
