Raven R code 281 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Has anyone refurb'd their dash cluster circuit board? My board has delaminated in various locations and I was thinking about peeling the rest back and cleaning with vinegar and regluing it back together.....but not sure what would be the best glue for this application. I'm wondering about 3M spray adhesive or another clear type glue that I can squeegee on. Dave
danno 128 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 A clear silicone, like the bathtub caulk. You can get it in clear, and that will work. It stays flexible, if you need it, and is not conductive when it is cured. You have to clamp it together while it is drying, though, and that can be difficult. Raven R code 281 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Hmmm ......not a bad idea. I would just sandwich it under some heavy books.
CHUCK4850 10 Report post Posted May 21, 2014 I would go with contact cement. Silicone is very acidic, even when cured, so it will corrode the copper strips over time. It will eat a hole through steel as well, so never use it to seal a windshield, either! Chuck
Rsanter 152 Report post Posted May 21, 2014 If you can get the two halves apart, I would just use clear shelf paper (the plastic stuff) and adhear it on and perhaps install a couple of layers Bob
