MustangRanch 14 Report post Posted September 20, 2013 I'm a little new to the restoration world. I'm finishing up my first project and have these parts off of a 69coupe. Is there value in these original parts or are they destined for the scrap yard. I've got upper and lower control arms, master cylinder, springs, yadda yadda. All show their age. Thanks for any feedback.
70mstang 11 Report post Posted September 20, 2013 I think the only valuable old suspension parts would the spindles which you're probably using since they weren't in your pic. Everything else is scrap.
MustangRanch 14 Report post Posted September 21, 2013 Yup. Spindles and steering control arm were the only original parts reused in the restoration. Scrap yard it is then. Maybe I'll get enough out of it to get some TacoBell on the way home. Thanks for the feedback.
rockhouse66 22 Report post Posted September 21, 2013 If that brake m/c is truly an original Bendix unit, it is worth some money for restoration. Ditto things like the tie rod ends. You could compare the details of the m/c with some of the pictures here (they are for PB, MB is similar); http://www.deadnutson.com/page/page/2634063.htm
miketyler 15 Report post Posted September 21, 2013 I sold my original lower control arms to a guy overseas. I would market the lot on Craigslist
jwscarab 20 Report post Posted September 22, 2013 I agree with both sides. Ive sold a chunk of OEM stuff and some of it brought some decent coin, but some you pretty much have to sell real cheap just to unload it. In this case, you could probably get some $ for it, but you also have to spend the time to do it (take pictures, research each part for OEM, list, field emails etc). So if you get bored in the winter like I do, sell it part by part on ebay. Its fun and brings a little $ flow back to your mustang hobby. If your time is valuable, post the whole lot on craigslist for somebody to throw $20-$50 bucks at.

rockhouse66 22 Report post Posted October 8, 2013 I think it should have Bendix on the bottom to be an original, but not 100% on that.
