Flanders 46 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 I know 69GT's commonly had a stripe along the base of the door, like this: conveniently enough, this is the same color as my car :D. I currently don't have stripes...my car has a chrome rocker strip which looks like it usually comes on mach 1's: So what's more common? Is it technically a faux-pas to have the chrome strip on a GT? I'm not too fussy either way, but I was going to put a GT stripe on the car but think it might not look too good unless I take the chrome off.
bomccorkle 12 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 Slick ride and I'm not sure of proper but I think you're right that its either a one or the other kinda look
Tgriffin91 27 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 I personally like the chrome better. But either one makes the car look good. Maybe try putting the strip on and see how it looks with the chrome and if they clash replace/remove the chrome.
dennyb68 11 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 If you remove the chrome wont you will still have the mounting holes for the clips that hold the chrome?
Tgriffin91 27 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 You will but they can be filled in. You could look into painting it. Maybe black to match the stripe. I would just keep the chrome though! Looks great!
Armond 10 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 The rocker trim was available on the GT. It was part of another package that could be added. I'd leave it on.

manley 13 Report post Posted August 5, 2013 There are pins that would need cut off if you remove the trim, also. Plus the 2 screw holes. I wouldn't do it to such a nice car.
Max Power 74 Report post Posted August 5, 2013 When I repainted my car, I took the rocker trim off. It seems to be 50/50 out there.
