Tranny Install Binding-Engine Can't Turn

The crank doesn't have a pilot bearing in it does it? That would lock it up, but I think something would have broke when the bellhousing bolts were tightened the first time.

 

no the pilot bearing was removed back when i first purchased the 351 Cleveland.

proper tc installation is as follows: you slide it on the splines and push it in while you spin the cookies out of it! noone has really stated that I realized, it should jump back intot he tranny once or twice. Ive installed alot of auato trannies and this is the only way to get hte TC in properly.

yes i discovered that yesterday when i wiggled it and twisted it until it dropped back about an inch or so.

or according to the charts 1 1/8 inch
