ashleesmach1 28 Report post Posted December 17, 2010 Were you able to get the headers installed? You did not have to modify the shock towers too?
yamahasrx700 14 Report post Posted December 17, 2010 I had to trim the passenger reinforcement plate on the shock tower. I also welded the shock towers were the factory only spot welded. I had to drop the idler arm 3/4 of an inch and drop the cross member 1/8 inch. That was all in the instructions from Crites. The headers are 8 piece with a slip on collector. The Crites kit is sweet. It came with frame/motor mounts and headers.

yamahasrx700 14 Report post Posted December 30, 2010 No pics. I measured the top hole down 3/4 of an inch. Drilled a new hole, bolted up the arm and then drilled the lower one using the arm as a template. I was easy.

yamahasrx700 14 Report post Posted January 1, 2011 The forward cross bar will not fit. I will find or fab one for this conversion. The stock brackets fit but there is no way to go straight across from tower to tower. Even the ones that have a radius section in the middle will not clear the carb or the distributor.
