69R-CODE 25 Report post Posted August 26, 2010 Both of my headlight buckets are missing the tabs that bolt to the front valence. Should i buy new ones or can i use the broken ones and the bumper will cover them up? Any info would be appreciated. I just hate to pay $250 per bucket new if i can use the old ones. unfrozen1969 11 Report post Posted August 27, 2010 From what I have seen they are notorius for breaking, and I believe that you can using them without anyone really knowing, I am not sure what adjustments have to be made in lieu of the connection not being made... maxum96 32 Report post Posted August 27, 2010 The tabs usually get broken from minor accidents when the front bumper was pushed back or the lower valance was struck. Without the tabs, the lower valance panel will flex more. You can fabricate a bracket and pop rivet it on to the headlight bucket.
9RO1M 12 Report post Posted August 27, 2010 Do you still have the tabs. One of mine was broken and had it welded back on.Being Cast iron or pot iron it had to welded with the correct technique.Any good welding type workshop or engineering shop should be able to do it.
