Handegard 10 Report post Posted August 22, 2010 I have a Edlebrock 1406 (600cfm, E-choke) and I've put it on my '69s motor, a '88 5.0 Anyway, I'm not sure what to do to get the throttle hooked up. I'm missing the factory manifold-throttle bracket, but I don't know if it'd work anyway, because the Edlebrock is so much wider. Any of you guys that have a Edlebrock 4bbl on your 302, how did you get the throttle and TV rod hooked up? I have a bracket on the side that Edlebrock sells "for use with Ford automatic" for the TV rod, but it is so wide that it'll hit the valve cover if I don't use a carb spacer (I have a 1" on now, for this reason, but I want to remove it) Any ideas guys? I'm this close to getting it running...
Fordrevhead 29 Report post Posted August 22, 2010 For starters, why would you ever remove a carb spacer? Aside from that, this is with a Lokar kickdown cable:
LoneWolf2U 136 Report post Posted August 22, 2010 +2 Removing the spacer will cause fuel perk and loss of throttle responce.

I'd like to remove it so I can close my hood ;) The only reason it is there, is that during mock-up I found out that the TV adapter I had on the Edlebrock hit the valve covers. Performance is not a issue here, the only place this car will get driven over the next couple months (if not years) is on and off a trailer to go back and forth to the shop ;) I am thrilled by that photo, thanks. It sheds light on some questions I haven't asked yet... I was eying a Lokar kit for my AOD... Where did you get the bracket that holds the throttle cable on? Is that part of the Lokar kit? My factory 2bbl throttle bracket is.... well, not good enough...
