Stanger69 16 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-13525187779972_2088_4311611 Anyone have this steering wheel??? If so, my next question is, what did you do about your turn signal switch? Shortened??? Are there shorter turn signal switches.
Peppo 10 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Have the exact same steering wheel (bought it for myself from my wife for x-mas). It fits perfect. I dont really understand what you mean with the turn signal ?
Stanger69 16 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 Great minds think alike...I did the same thing for x-mas. Told my wife that was all I wanted. Back to the issue: When mounted, the steering wheel is closer to the dash and therefore closer to the turn signal. When I make a turn my fingers get caught on the turn signal. I am having to turn with my palms. I was going to shorten the turn signal switch but wanted some input first.
maxum96 32 Report post Posted January 26, 2010 With the arm screwed in, mark which way faces forward. Unscrew it and take it out. Bend it slightly towards where you marked front. Then screw it back in. That's what I did with my Lecarra wheel. Arms are cheap if you ever need to put a straight one back in.

Thanks Maxum, I had thought about the bend as well but I thought it may be cleaner look if I could find a shorter turn signal.

Billet my look better with the new steering wheel anyhow.
maxum96 32 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 If you just want it shorter, cut an inch off the threaded end and rethread it.
buening 63 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 5.5" not including the threads. This is measuring from the face of column to the end of the knob. Hope this helps!
kazlaszlo 10 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Hey guys, I have the same problem with a Grant 14" wheel. The original lever is 7" , the billet is 5.5" , it will be pretty close. I was looking for a lever about 4" , would work great. I might get the billet Al. and cut it to 41/2" and re-thread it. Another solution is to use a 2" or 3" spacer , these aftermarket wheels do not have the dish that the original rimblow wheels have. Kaz

The billet one will work fine, the original is 7" from the column to the steering wheel.
kazlaszlo 10 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 I just received my 14" collector edition Grant, It has about 1 3/4" dish. By adding a 2" spacer, the turn signal lever no longer interferes . Kaz
