Jeff, as far I know, the Q code ( not shaker hood ) had the rectangular badge; 428 The R code , shaker hood had the script ' CobraJet 'I will attempt to insert the link again[/img]

My is also built in San Jose, Nov '68. Sold in Houston TX and died in Lubbuck Tx. I added the script CobraJet. I had no hood or interior. Did have the engine ( no exhoust manifolds) Also 4.57:1 slip 9" ( I changed it to 3.55 and adding a GearVendors Over/Under. http://i924.photobucket.com/albums/ad89/kaz_Q_CODE/enginebay5-21-12.jpg

Hey Jeff. Attached a photobucket link. I got the car ready ( rocker arm and valve spring ) Friday night and won 1st place Saturday. Kaz http://i924.photobucket.com/albums/ad89/kaz_Q_CODE/kazs69Q.jpg

I bought it. Expect it delivered UPS on 5/3, just in time for my upcoming carshow of 5/5. Hope one out of the 8 rocker arms are good.It gets me going. The rest is just bonus. Thanks again Jeff. Your car is similar to mine, it is a Q code as well with a C-6. I am in the process of installing a Gear Vendors unit, to get me on the hiway. ( I had a 4.56:1 rear, just changed it to 3.55, still running 3K RPMs at 65MPH)

I need one original or replacement steel, adjustable rocker arm for my '69 428CJ Kaz

I had a factory front power disc, I converted to 2004 13" Cobra brakes. Front only. You need the non disc front hub, which you have and a kit from MustangSteve. Looks good and it works great.

In all my newer cars I use Syntetic Mobil 1 5W20. It leaves no carbon deposites, ( it is Syntetic) and being thin it flushes out the parts, keeps the engine clean. Most importantly I use Mobil 1 micrifilter. My '86 Corvette had 300K miles and running strong, when I sold ir . However it is not so good for older cars like my '69 Mach 1, 428 Cj solid lifters. I use Valvolin VR-1 -Racing Oil 20W50.

I recommend you check with MustangSteve at mustangsteve.com. He can sell you the brackets that bolt onto your front drum spindels, and install factory 13" cobra brakes. ( rotor, caliper, pads all standad parts you can purchase in any autostore.)
