  1. I bought everything individually. The panels themselves are Mustang Market. I thought they were very high quality. Thanks for the props! http://www.mustangmarket.com/
  2. It's the one noone seems to like lol, Year One. Fit like a glove.
  3. Thanks fellas, pretty proud how they came out myself. The bulbs are standard type. Everything you see is repro except the lights, the long chrome trim piece, and the door handle. The hole punch tool worked amazing, punching all the way through the carpet area on the panel, allowing me to easily drill the holes into the door.
  4. After finally getting the mirrors painted I went ahead and hung the new deluxe door panels I assembled a loooong time ago. A rivnut for the mirror was spinning on the passenger side so I clamped some vice grips on it then screwed the mirror down. FYI, this leather punch worked awesome for punching through the carpet on the door panel to keep it from fraying. The list is getting shorter......
  5. Oh yeah, forgot you bought a Cervinis. 6.5" from the back of 69/70 mustangs. http://forums.vintage-mustang.com/vintage-mustang-forum/497017-boss-429-hoodscoop-question.html

  7. I have read in a couple of places, including the Boss forums that the aftermarket Boss 9 scoops are mounted 6.5 inches from the rear of hood.

  9. "As the scoop choice turns".... Decided to go with the cobrajet replica scoop for two reasons. It conceals the shaker opening better because the opening isn't as gigantic as the Boss 9. More importantly, I was able to steer clear of the underside bracing going with the narrower scoop. I was very nervous taking a hammer and punch to the hood and was close to hiring it out but what guarantee do you have they won't screw it up? I decided after all this work if anyone was going to freak up the hood it was me lol. I'll be painting the scoop body color. I've ordered a couple of custom billet "418" emblems Billet Badges that should look cool. http://www.billetbadges.com/photoview/5258/5480563152_3590049f49.jpg-418 They replicate the 351 badges on the scoop in the pic. I've got a B9 replica scoop for sale after all if anyone is interested.

  13. Well I decided after mocking up the cobra jet knockoff scoop that I really had my heart set on a B9 scoop lol. The one I have already has studs fiberglassed into it that won't come out. It is clear that mounting it is going to require clearancing the bracing under the hood to spin the nuts on. My hood is painted and I'm afraid I'll butcher the crap out of it attempting to mount this damn thing. I probably should have a pro install it. I like how the Cervini scoop allows you to install the studs but I'm NOT buying a THIRD scoop. I have bought two of a lot of things on this project and I'm drawing the line!!!

  17. I used the Doug's D669Y midlength headers. Real thick flanges, tons of ground clearance. I would recommend them to anyone. http://www.jegs.com/i/Dougs-Headers/776/D669Y/10002/-1?parentProductId=

  21. That's great to hear Pak. I have made plenty of mistakes screwing with this car but not figuring out the scoop before paint ranks right up there.

  23. Cool pics Mike. Here is my dilemma. I have an original shaker hood painted and ready to go. Rather than fight to get the shaker to line up with the hood after rebuilding my engine with an Air-Gap, I sold it on Ebay for a small fortune. Stupid me didn't mock a scoop up on the car before paint. I bought an aftermarket Boss 429 scoop and was ready to install it but I'm afraid of completely screwing up the underside of my hood where the studs will encounter the hood bracing. I believe I found an aftermarket cobra jet scoop knockoff (Branda) that is wide enough to cover the shaker hole and allow me to install it without disturbing the braces, especially the areas where the bracing is angled. The Maier eliminator hood is sweet, but like you, I don't like the fact the scoop is wider in the back. Who said building these freaking things was easy lol.
