  1. dealing with 40 year old wiring harnesses sucks. When I saw the condition of the wiring of my car when tearing it down, I decided to just man up and do a full rewire. I ended up just getting an EZ wire 18 circuit harness. Haven't gotten to the point to install it yet, so I can't attest to the ease of installation but new wire in an old car is a no-brainer to me.
  2. i cleaned the area up a bit and and looked inside the frame rail before patching as well as poked around with a screwdriver. The rest looked/felt solid.
  3. thanks. I just hope it all stays together once it's on the road.
  4. took your advice and patched it up. Didn't worry too much about cosmetics since the area is hidden by the shock tower anyhow. Took about an hour to finish up.
  5. just got done replacing my driver's side frame rail and now moved on to the passenger side to replace the shock tower and inner fender panels. I thought the frame was solid but looky what I found lurking under the shock tower. (the towers had previously been tied into the frame rail with a metal patch sort of like the boss 302 mod or whatever that is so I couldn't see this frame area). I'd really like to avoid replacing the entire rail as I just got done replacing that on the driver's side and it was a major PITA. Still have to replace the torque box and floor pan rail on that side... so the idea of even more surgery is killing me. I'm thinking I can get away with just a patch but would like to get some 2nd opinions. Thanks, Jason
  6. yeah I've read through that post already. In fact it was what lead me away from the shelby pieces. For the work involved, it makes sense to me to try something different to get the look I'd prefer. I may just pick up one end cap off eBay or something to check fitment and see how difficult fabrication of the trunk ducktail will be
  7. I have a 69 vert which I'm planning on doing some subtle body mods on. I'm thinking about doing the shelby rear trunklid/ endcaps but feel that it is a bit tall/extreme for my tastes (at least in pics). I'm wondering if it would be possible to use fastback end caps and modify the trunklid either by welding in sheetmetal to form the ducktail or possibly even a section of the fastback trunklid. However, I believe the fastback quarters have a different shape than the convertible ones and am unsure whether thefastback end caps would fit without extensive modification (if at all). End caps are not cheap so if anyone know offhand the difference in mounting points and contours I'd really apprecae the insight. Thanks
