  1. Has anyone fitted a new filler panel that goes between the rear window and the trunk on a fastback. Looks to be two options for repo parts. Dynacorn make one and Apex make one . Both have the pins to take the clips for the window trim. Just wanted to see if there are any fitting issues with either brand before I purchase one. NPD sells the Apex one.
  2. I spoke to JT at NPD in Florida . They will take the payment there and ship out of the Michigan depot . Saves me paying tax apparently . I will see . Just means more parts I can buy lol
  3. Thanks midlife . So I gather you guys purchase you stuff inter state to avoid paying sales tax then .
  4. I'm flying over to the U.S. On Friday from Australia. Can anyone give me the lowdown on the sales tax over there. If I purchase stuff from NPD in Florida and have it shipped to my sisters house in Nebraska will I have to pay tax on it? Some guys over here say I won't but just want to check with some locals first. Thanks Mark.
  5. I have spoken to some guys down here in Australia and found out that the dynacorn hoods are not great . Even to the point that they have removed them and replaced them with another brand as they were so bad. When I spoke to the local mustang shops they told me that they only use one company in Taiwan now as the others are always being returned. I've decided to keep my original hood and spent the time to make it work.
  6. I went to a local chroming guy but he said that its not worth doing as its got a couple of spots that would show plus the emblem had to be removed . A bit worse than the ones ridges has . I ordered a new one from CJs .
  7. Thanks everyone for the advice . Ford tooling ones are the go then. Got to be better than what i currently have. Chelby-Ann most mustang places have them but im getting them from NPD .
  8. Anyone purchased the ford tooling sill/scuff plates. They are a twice the price than the repro ones . Are they worth the money? Meant to be made using thicker material? Just wanted to check before purchase the NPD ones. Cheers Mark.
  9. Cheers ridge. I already have a re chromed base that looks new but was looking at getting a new cap . I was thinking about getting the cap re chromed but the emblem is fixed unlike the repos that have the tabs . And I'm not sure how to get the spring loaded rubber cap of without damaging it .
  10. Can anybody tell me the difference in the flip open gas caps for 69 and 70. Im chasing one for my 69 as mine is a bit shabby. Cheers Mark.
  11. Thanks guys. Shaun071 i had a look at your thread. Yes its probably a good idea to move the lower mounting point rear as these retractables dont like to be on an angle and will lock up as 69volunteer said. I will check out Hemco and see what they have.
  12. Thanks guys. Danno will be good to see what you are using. RPM thanks for the pics. Did you use the 8 Inch or standard sash guides mounted to the roof on your fastback.
  13. I came across an old post using these belts. http://wescoperforma...-seat-belt.html http://1969stang.com/forum/index.php?/topic/48384-three-point-seatbelt-install/ I was wanting to change my standard ones out as the wife says that they dig into her neck due to the upper mounting position. If anyone has used the Wesco performance style in a fastback can they give me the buckle length they used. There are three options 8,11 and 20 inches. Just want to make sure that its long enough from the mounting point on the floor to miss the centre console. My interior has been pulled ready for paint so i cant measure. Has anyone used anything else or are there better options around. Cheers Mark.
  14. So sorry to hear about your brother Adam. Chris helped me out a few time and was always willing to share his knowledge. His products were always top notch. I will place a post on the Australian mustang forum to let the guys down here know.
  15. My 69 mach1 didn't have a spoiler from the factory but that didn't stop me putting one on. You can use the trunk lid that you have and just cut the oval holes in it to take the spoiler brackets. My springs hold the trunk up fine . You must have been disappointed getting the marti report if someone told you it was a Mach 1 to find out it wasn't.
  16. I was thinking about using dynamat . I'm currently have the underlay with the bitumen inner and it's not great . Are you saying dynamat isn't much chop either.
  17. I purchased a set through CJs . Wheel Vintiques. The chrome is good but the black paint is crap. I also had issues with balancing one wheel. Go with specialty wheels.
  18. Ridge I haven't drilled the holes in my hood yet so it's not a big issue but if I go for another trim made by some one else I don't want to have slotted holes everywhere. Before I go drilling I just want to know if the SD one are the best repco ones I can buy.
  19. Cheers Brian. The Scott Drake ones are just pressed steel with the studs bronzed to the back. They don't have a thick lip like the originals. I was just wondering if anyone makes repco pot metal ones or better ones than SD.Cheers Mark.
  20. Ridge some are in the correct position and some are about 4mm out.
  21. Does anyone make a decent shaker trim ring. I purchased a Scott Drake one and it's very poor quality . Even some of the studs are way out. We're the originals die cast ?
