Having some problems with my disc brake swap
panteramatt replied to panteramatt's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Thanx for that brian. I figured out the brake pedal but haven't had a chance to go back to the mc, way too hot out. The kit I got from csrp is the new one that uses the newer pbr calipers from a 99+ mustang since I already had a set laying around. My kit came with fittings and dennis said it was complete. Did your kit come with fittings? I called dennis but he doesn't act like he really cares to help anyone. -
Having some problems with my disc brake swap

Sweet! I didnt know there where other mounting points in the pedal support. Now I just gotta figure out the prop valve and Im good. -
Im currently putting on a front disc power brake swap from csrp. I already have the brakes on and am putting in the master cylinder. Im having problems figuring out the adjustable prop valve and the new brake pedal doesnt even come close to fitting. its about 2" longer. Its going in a 69. anyone have any ideas or pics for me to follow?

Help me decide on these 2 brake kits
panteramatt replied to panteramatt's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
True. I guess Im just blinded by the bling of the ssbc kit. -
I have a 69 with manual drums. Im switching over to power disc and am looking at the new kit from csrp that uses the newer pbr calipers from 99-03 mustang gts or the ssbc AW12023R kit from cj pony parts. I like the red calipers in the ssbc kit and I think they would perform better with 4 45mm pistons. Their both the same price but if I went with the ssbc kit, Id still need a master cylinder and booster with brake pedal. What would you guys do? Is the ssbc kit worth the extra little $? Its only $573 shipped right now.

Oh and nice choice for american muscle. The 69 is definitely not only the nicest mustang ever produced but possibly the nicest muscle car! -

Are you new to the country? Where in NJ are you? I have the same car and I have a summit brand 750 (same as holley) and a weiand stealth intake to put on it but Im waiting on a good set of heads and cam. Might just build a 408 stroker and wait. I have full longtubes and x-pipe. Sounds good but the motor is choked up and probally tired. -

So your telling me I need to run a ground all the way from my trunk to my block! I thought I had to ground the battery in the trunk somewhere and then make sure I ground the block? Is this not gonna be good enough and cause problems? And do I need to ground a 3g or not? -

So I need a good ground for my engine since Im mounting my battery in the trunk. Could I just use a bolt and an existing hole near where the battery was for my enine ground? Also, since Im grounding the block do I have to ground my 3g alternator?

Just started installing my 3g alternator and need to know where to hook up the green wire. Also, besides the regulator, what wires can be removed? Any from the starter solenoid?
