What paint/color did you end up using for the dash ? That's great that you stepped up for your brother, look forward to the updates.

On the ground was fine back then lol.
Not true, all vehicles after the early '70s now have one for a reason. some expansion and contraction of coolant is normal hence the purpose of the coolant reservoir so coolant can be pulled back into the rad on cool down and push back into it (especially after shut down) to make a closed system. Take the old Ford rads that had the rather large top tank shaped like a tent. If you fill them right to the top it's going to spit coolant out, keep coolant just above the rad fins leaving the tank part mostly empty all is good. But we want to have maximum amount of fluid in the system for max efficacy so fill to the rad right up and have a reservoir :)

The blackout hood option is going to be sprayed with SEMS hot rod black (with a drop of flattening agent.
Anyone go go that Route?

That turned out excellent Dave, great stuff ! I'm sure you're happy with it.

Yes I'm not sold on the middle of the scoop either. The hood having the raised part coming to a point and the scoop being flat just looks kinda weird. But over all it looks nice. No insult intended, the overall project is looking fantastic !

Yes please :) The engine sure looks comfortable in there, you managed the install with the headers on ? Great stuff Walt !

Just in case anyone cares, while I was looking through one of the vendors I happened to find these rails and they are a Scott Drake part.

Spring shackle bushings maybe ? Changed position while it was hoisted and didn't resettle to ride height when put back down ? Can you duplicate it just jousting the back end ? Just a thought.

It also goes into some of your replies, weird. Anyways, some great stuff and some great welding :)

Hey Bob, while we're giving you instructions, put some window screening in front of that purdy rad for your long trips. {I'm sure you thought of this already :) )
