  2. I have been reserching the same thing. Seems like some guys got the best price on Magnums with tires already mounted & balenced through Summit racing. I would at least give them a call for a quote. The guy in the link got a good deal on his with BFG's http://www.1969stang.com/mustang/forum/showthread.php?t=7451&highlight=magnum+summit&page=4
  3. I have a Powermaster also and it looks like the same case as mine. It's been 6 years and I have lost the info on it having moved twice. It is a one wire and hooks right to the starter solenoid. Never had a problem with it. It's either a 100 or 140 amp. I had to make a different spacer behind it due to my aftermarket heads but no big deal.
  4. Yea i got the step headers now. The heads I have are knock off Edelbrock rpms, 2.02 intake 1.54 exhaust which ran the standard ford pattern which required the step. Actually not bad power but i feel i am leaving a lot on the table. The AFR's have both patterns but I wish I did have the spread. For a street car it should not be much of an difference I hope.
  5. Sounds like a great setup you have there. I will be running a 275/60/15 in the rear once everything is done. The 235/60/14's I have not don't offer much in the way of traction with the under headed 408 I have now so something has to be done. Do you have any hood issues with the Torker intake? The head guy wants to use a Vic Jr but I will probaly port the Weiand. The Vic would require a drop base cleaner to fit but I think that would hit the carb choke.
  6. 69G. I am running everything on the list now except the AFR's. I know a vacum secondary would be better but my engine guy was set on the DP so I bowed to him on that one. What width rear tire are you running and how is your traction? Do you run a choke on your carb?
  7. I was thinking I needed a larger stall. Can you guys suggest a size and brand for me? I have not weighed it but I'm guessing I am at 3500 lbs with driver.
  8. I am considering a head change and would like some comments. Do you think this would be a good setup? Looking for strong street only car. 408 rotating assy AFR205 heads 10.6 cr Custom cam Port matched Weiand stealth intake Holley 750dp FPA stepped headers 1 5/8" to 1 3/4" 2.5" exhaust with Flowmasters C4 with 2200 stall 9" 3.25 rear
  9. Check this thread out. It has some good info. http://www.1969stang.com/mustang/forum/showthread.php?t=7451&highlight=magnum
  10. I am in the same boat as you. I have been reaserching the same issue. It seems that you should be able to run the Magnum 15 x 8 rim, 4.5"bs, with the 255/60/15 BFG in the rear without rubbing pending rear spring condition. Some have run the 275/60/15 without rubbing but some do rub. I am having my car painted in the summer so Im gonna have them roll the fenders and run the 275/60. When you are ready it seems Summitt has the best price going with mounting included. I like the fact when they show up at the door all you have to do is put em on.
  11. Looking to do a head change and will probaly go with the Vic Jr intake on my 408. What kind of air cleaners are you guys running to not hit the hood? Standard? Drop base?
  12. The front is rebuilt with stock parts and the rear has the 5 leaf spring but I cant remember which eyes. it has 235/60/14's all around now and the stance I would say looks good but it's fairly neutral. I am hoping the extra 1" in back will give it that just right look but not going too far. The fronts clear fine in the 14" size maybe they will be ok going to the 15. Planning on finally having the car painted in the spring. Think I should have them roll the fenders front and rear just in case?
  13. After much researching past threads here is the tire/wheel set up I am looking at. Please post thoughts on the looks/rake angle this would look like. Thanks. Magnum 500s Front 15x7 4.25"bs 235/60 Rear 15x8 4.5"bs 275/60
  14. I will be buying a new wheel soon and remember the trouble people were having with the grant horn bottoms falling out. Does anyone know if they have fixed this issue?
  15. I have the FPA'S also and like them. Like Demon said they dont reach the tranny crossmember but they are longtube's. I have ran them for 5 years and they still look good. I have the 351 block with the C4 and a Randalls rack so it should be similar to what you are looking for. They are pricey but they fit nicely you dont have to worry about tearing em off crossing a R/R track. I have the 351 standard Ford port header. http://www.fordpowertrain.com/FPAindex/Mustang1.htm
  16. I am planning to do a front disk brake swap in the spring and need some help. I just had a cam swap done to improve idle manners and driveability. Killed more power than I thought but that's another story altogether. When I talked to the guy about the brake kit he said I would need 15lbs of vacuum for the power booster. I'm getting about 10.5 now. Is there another way to get the vacumm I need? Electric pump or accumulator? Or should I just go with the manual setup? Any thoughts would be a great help.
