  1. I looked at the Classic Air site again. They have the installation manual online. For cars WO A/C you have to cut a hole in the dash for the vent. If you use their factory air conversion kit with their "Perfect Fit" kit then all you do is attach the hose adapter to your factory vent. They do sell upgraded vents so I probably could get one of theirs unless I can find one online cheaper. They do not have any prices or dimentions listed so I would have to call. They also have custom cable controls if one does not want to use the stock one. They also have a conversion kit for their cable control module to convert to electronic controled, getting rid of thise cables. I like that idea but there are no photos of them on their website. I would still like to know if that Cougar vent would also fit our Mustangs.

  3. I want to install my A/C back in my 69 Mach when I rewire my Mach with the American Auto Wire harness and my dash will be disassembled. It has factory A/C but it looks like I am missing a lot of the original parts. I have just about decided to go with the Classic Auto Air upgrade. I purchased a new Ford Tooling dash pad because the PO put one of those cheap plastic dash covers over the original pad. I peeked under the cover and saw that my dash pad was trashed and is missing the center A/C vent. Not sure what else is missing or broke until I take everything apart. I received my new dash pad and the first thing I need is the center A/C vent. There are a couple of them on ebay but they are either broke, in bad need of restoration or priced higher than a cat’s back! I have found a vent from a 69 Cougar that is in perfect shape and reasonably priced. From what I have researched, it looks like it will fit but I’m still not sure. Not really concerned about date correct or doing a 100 point car. I just want it to look good and function properly. Do any of you have any information on this or maybe where I could pick up one that is for a 69/70 Mustang? I searched the usual places: Mustangs Unlimited, CJ Pony Parts, and Laurel Mountain Mustang….etc and have not seen any. I’m starting this project in a couple of months and will update this thread as I go. I’ll try to post pics during the process but for now I am trying to get some parts ordered. Any help and/or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I just love brain storming ideas with everybody. Can’t get enough information when doing a project. Thanks in advance……Mike

  5. This is an interesting thread that can apply here if you want to go with the new carrier. This looks interesting. http://1969stang.com/mustang/forum/showthread.php?t=10186

  11. 22 years in the USN.......I remember 18 of them! LOL
  12. Check Mustangs Unlimited. They do ship international. http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/shipping.asp
  13. I have been doing a lot of researching on these. I have read pros and cons for both. Looks like a 50/50 split on personal opinions. I have read that Painless has the correct wire colors. Not sure if AAW does. One thing that I am concerned about is wiring the alternator and distributor. I want to go with a one wire alternator and an MSD electronic ignition/distributor. I have read some horror stories about wiring both.
  14. Oh, they can make any of their gauge styles for the 69/70 Mustang Bezels. Take a look through their different styles!
  15. Yes, they are the new style that you can't see until they are turned on. The turn signal indicator is an arrow located in the outer gauges and the high beam is in the tach.
  16. Yep....They can do just about anything you want.
  17. Just talked to New Vintage USA. They have the gauge sets for the 69/70 Mustangs. They can send you the gauge set for you to install in your bezel for about $796. I like the custom backlit lighting which would run about $1100 for the set. Here is the link. http://www.newvintageusa.com/news.html
  18. Jerry, the part number for an FMX switch is 7A247. I saw something where that may fit 67-69 C4, C6 and FMX transmissions. It is located up into the shifter and not on the side of the transmission. Here is that link. http://www.championmustang.com/6769-mustang-neutral-safety-switch-c4-c6-fmx-after-121566-p-4726.html I would invest in the 5 volumn set of shop manuals. They are a must. You can get them on e-bay or just about any Mustang web site. Just do a Google. I also like to get every document I can find on my Mustang. Wireing diagrams, a Motors manual, a Chiltens manual and anything else I can think of. Just my preference but the 5 part shop manual is a must. Hope this helps.
  19. Jerry, Count the pan bolts, - C4 has 11 - FMX has 14 (I have read somewhere some have less, like 13, but they always have more than a C4 as above) - C6 has 17 Also, I believe the FMX is cast iron.

  21. Hey Menace, how about a courtsy light in the pull handle hole? Might be able to find something to fit in there. Remember the lights on the side of the consol of the late 60s chargers? They are round and perhaps large enough to cover that hole. Just a thought.
  22. I was thinking of going to a glass place near home and asking them if they cancut one or get one to fit and then glue it in.
  23. Has anyone tried to replace the mirror glass in the sport mirrors with the magnifing mirror glass in most cars of today? I have trouble using my mirror in my Mach 1 because I'm so use to the magnifing mirror in my Jeep. Just thought about doing this. Any thoughts/ideas/opinions?
  24. I don't remember seeing any "351" Italic badges. I do remember the "Mustang" italic badge. Anybody have any pics?
  25. Hey SM69Mach, Notbad. I just browsed your link. $1500 for all new glass. Not bad...have to keep that in mind.
