  1. Do you currently have an AM/FM Ford radio to fit my 69 for sale?
  2. I've looked for replacements with no luck. The hood lip trim is available but the repro. part doesn't match up as well as the Ford part. It's a little short. Mine was perfect until I bumped into something in my garage. Used Hockey sticks are usually worse than what I've got and their not being reproduced, as far as I know.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Not sure I'll try the repair to the stainless trim pieces, I'd sure hate to ruin them, but your instruction for the hockey sticks repair made me think,Why didn't I think of that?
  4. Any recommendations on where I can get some of the convertible trim on my 69 vert. repaired? The chrome around my top well has some attachment studs broken off, and I have some damage on my stainless windshield trim. Just wondering if anyone has tried any of the companies, I think one source I heard about was called Snake Oil. ?
  5. I also have an FMX in my 69 conv. and the last time I checked with GV , they didn't offer an application for an FMX.. That's been a few months ago. I sure like what I've read about it though.
  6. As said before, the convertibles didn't have retractable belts. The unibody structure protrudes farther into the floor area on a convertible. Not enough room between the inner floor frame rails and the seat back. I know because I installed retractable belts on my 69 conv. alot of years ago. They keep my inner doors scratched up and bind up under the seat back.
  7. I'm pretty sure the underside of a 70 conv. is the same as a 69 conv. and I had problems with long tube headers on my 69. I had Hooker Competition long tube headers on it for a few years and the drivers side collector was too long which made it necessary for the exhaust pipe to make a fairly sharp bend just after the collector so the exhaust could be routed through the driveshaft tunnel and over the bolt-on coverts reinforcement plate. I put a set of JBA ceramic coated shorty headers on it about ten years ago. Probably lost a little performance but I'll never go back. The change to shorty headers also took away an irritating vibration I had with the long tubes. I've got a very mild 351 in my convert. 375 hp. on an engine dyno..
  8. Thanks for the info.. Gives me some more options. I've read the Magazine articles and looked at the catalogues, but ofcourse, every company claims their systems are the best. This site is great. Hearing from people who have tried the products. I've got a few weeks before I'm ready to begin that phase of my restoration.
  9. Thanks for the reply. I may end up doing that and doing the Shelby change, lowering the upper A-arm and better springs and bigger sway bar. The Gateway kit looked simple and no cutting or welding, so it could go back to stock if I wanted. It is a little newer technology, but newer isn't always better.
  10. Any experience or opinions on the Gateway suspension system featured in the August Mustang Monthly? I've got a 69 convertible that I've had since 1973, and I really need to update a few things to make it safer to drive. Suspension and brakes are a necessity. I really need to make the changes once, as I don't have a lot of money or ability left.
