  1. I just got back from Barrett Jackson. While I was in Phoenix I picked up a GT cap, probably a 8 or 8.5, pretty nice, and a 351W aluminum Buddy Bar intake for $450 total. I guess these intakes were a dealer added option, I don't see any on ebay and little info on the web so far. C90X-9424A part number, I took a gamble on the intake does anyone know any thing about them? I might post another thread.
  2. Agreed, I saw this car at show and I love it. It's different and the black hood makes it look really good. I am only 85% sure it's Lime Gold, I know it's a factory 69 color, I asked the guy and I'm pretty sure he said Lime Gold. I'm someone on this forum can tell for sure. I'd definitley go for this, Silver Jade is really nice too, you can't go wrong with Indian Fire or Calypso Coral. Whimbleton White looks good but so does Candy Apple Red. The colors you talk about would look great as well and then there's the 1970 Grabber colors.
  3. Decent driver quality, I checked ebay for completed listings and didn't find anything. I found one locally from an acquantance but I'm not sure if his price is fair.
  4. My guess is that the seats are 1970 vintage. You should be able to sell yours and buy some 69 seats if it's important to you. Congrats on the Mach, in my opinion the 69 Mach is the best looking car ever made. I joined this forum a few months ago, these guys are an incredible wealth of knowledge. Rch makes a good point, you should order the Marti Deluxe Report.
  5. Thanks for the info guys, I always thought there was a difference.
  6. How can I tell the difference between 2V and 4V Windsor heads? Thanks guys.
  7. According to the owner from several years ago (Espresso stand guy) it was missing when he bought it. I am bothered by it being missing although the VIN's on the fender aprons are rock solid. The front end has not been scabbed onto another body and the police have no record of the VIN. Maybe it was removed to preserve it during sand blasting or something, I don't have a clue why someone would remove it other than to sell the title.
  8. I think this is Groovy Green. I read about this color recently, there were supposed to be 600 made and there were only 512 or something like that. http://homepages.together.net/~groovygreen/index.htm http://www.limited600mustang.net/index.html
  9. Does anyone know the typical duration of time between component manufacture date and the car's actual manufacture date? My Mach was built 11-28-68 and I found a 11-8-68 engine block. I suspect there are multiple schools of thought on this subject. Thanks
  10. The insanity continues. I live in a 3 county area that consists of about 2.5 million people. On the way home from picking up the car I wanted some coffee, I passed 7-10 espresso stands on the way home, a 45 minute drive. I finally stopped, the guy in the other drive thru window started telling me about the car, he knew it was GT and had 1 blue door and 1 silver jade door. He calls his buddy on the phone who used to own it, who now lives in Arizona and he beleives the car is still in his name. We exchanged information and plan to meet at the Barrett Jackson auction in January. I am buying lottery tickets today. I will post pics this weekend. Not much to look at though.
  11. I am not proud of this by any means, however I did it and it works great. I am working on a convertible. I could not care less if get 100% flow to the floor or defroster so I cut the rubber back away from the "Walls" of the heater box thus reducing the resistance. I cut back 3 of the 4 sides of the diverter. I should still get plenty of air in either location when I need it. I still have it torn apart so if I am going to regret this please tell me now. Thanks
  12. I looked at the car this morning, it is pretty decent shape. I saw a old rear sway bar in the car and it got me thinking. I came home and ordered a Marti report, turned out it is not a Mach but it is a GT with a M code/4speed. I talked with the State Police and the car is not stolen, the car is coming home with me tomorrow am. Merry Xmas to me.
  13. My plan is to go get a close look at the parts on the car and those that are in boxes and make an assesment of the value. I will make him an offer based on that, if I get the title it will be a bonus. Hopefully it won't be a horror story like the corvette. 2 Mustangs in 2 weeks, I think I'm sick. I have 12 garage stalls, my car trailer and 1 parts car has to sit outside. I need help, or maybe just a bigger barn.
  14. Capt Mike- I would love to see photos of your car(s). The more photos the better. My car did come with the Ivy Green interior and intend to blackout the hood, I just cannot own a mustang without a black hood. I will send you my email address.
  15. I just found reasonably priced a Mach 1 that I thought I might put in stock. It has no title nor a VIN in the dash, the VIN on the fender aprons do match, the door tag is gone. Can I get a replacement VIN tag? I know Marti cannot provide it. Should I run away from this car?
  16. There is a trim ring around the opening for the shaker although I don't beleive that adds much rigidity, I don't think that is a concern. The garage was pretty clean when I took the photo, the convertible rolled outside for the first time yesterday so I could clean the shop. A friend brought his wife's project coupe over yesterday, he's a pig so I suppose I will be spending my time cleaning up after him. I am in the Seattle area. Good luck with your shaker.

  19. This is the same color as the 65K car on ebay, might be the same car. I sent the guy a message asking what the color it is and he say's "Chrysler green j5 lime basecoat clearcoat by dupont".
  20. My Mach was originally silver jade, when I bought it it was root beer I had it painted red back in the day. If I did not plan to paint the Mach back to it's original color the convertible would be silver jade for sure, it's a fantastic color. If you are interested I have quite a few pictures of a silver jade Mach that I can send you, set it as a screen saver and see if it grows on you, good idea huh?
  21. I don't beleive I can offer you any solutions but I can give you some information that may or may not help you. I have a 1970 Boss 302 shaker on my 69 Mach 1, it has a 351W, a factory intake and a edelbrock 600 or 650 carb. The shaker sits a little lower than it should. In high school my buddy (Captain Sig from Dealiest Catch) had a 69 Fastback with a 351 shaker, an aftermarket intake manifold and it sat WAY too high. He also had NOS, I am not sure if that added to the shaker height or not. It was always a rush when he would hit the button then try to stop it with 4 drum brakes. When we talk about it today all we can do is laugh and be thankful we are still here. If you are thinking about an aftermarket shaker I would guess they have taken this into consideration and have some adjustment on the shaker.
  22. Looks like Dan was interrupted, a 8" did come with the car and I used the backing plates from it. The car is an original M code.
