Mike
  3. Thats Exxactly what im talking about right there Rev, I like the look of that , anyone actually used or installed one yet? Wonder if its Overkill? Mike
  4. Not to mention that it looks to me like the horsey is running the wrong direction :P If im not mistaken all horseys face forward :P But then again I could be wrong LOL Mike
  5. Well looking at the rest of the interior, I would say that those look to be something that is custome done with some foam and vinyl to me, but I could be mistaken....they look overstuffed, that is why im saying that they do not look factory. Mike
  6. I understand you het some track time with your car, is this correct?

I would like to know exactly what suspension products you have, because I like the stance your car has , and I wish to to a little competition as well. The car will see some 1/4 mile track time also so was wondering how your road carver suspension works in this situation.

Im currently considering using Opentracker racing for most of my products.

Also how would you say your car stacks up in the handling department as compared to a Fox Body or newer mustang.

    Thanks,

    Mike

  9. Were running a standard dist from like an 80's to 90's 351 LOL Sent it to a friend and had it recurved, then installed an MSD 6AL, and a Blaster Coil, Works like a charm Mike
  10. Moffitt, Lets see some pictures, Now im beginning to wonder LOL, Looks like wither the Global west or the tin man for connectors, BUT what about other chassis stiffening devices, something like a big X brace type deal? Mike
  11. Ok guys, Im looking for opinions on GOOD weld in Subframe connectors, and Chassis stiffining connectors. My Criteria are as follows.. 1. Dont want to cut the floors to fit them in. 2. Dont want them hanging down too far since the car will be dropped some what. 3. Would like a subframe connector that is manufactured or made to tie in with the chassis stiffiners. Ok Lets hear what everyone has used and likes and why. Gota get these ordered and installed before I undercoat the car with the lizard Skin, its burning me up, I wana get it going. Mike
  12. The studs that I recieved were not studs at all. They are freking little pop rivets. I need to call MU and ask how the hell they think these things will work, You would have to drill the hole and install the rivet but not push it in all the way and then rivet it and hope you had it right. I think its crap, probably going to return them. Mike
  13. I just bought a 9" rear to replace the 8" some moron installed in my Mach before I bought it, I was suprised to find the HUGE drums this thing has on it, the pads are 3- 3.25" wide, so I suppose I dont have to worry about the drum upgrade when the time comes. Im just goning to stick with the drums on the rear myself, I dont care if you can see them, I dont plan on anyone really looking at the brakes since the rest of the car will be so interesting LOL Mike
  14. Ahh ok so it was more a matter of time constraints, and hey use what ya got to do the blasting :P sounds good to me, im all about time savings :) Mike
  15. I have been told by a few reputable shop owners that do old cars that a vehicle with large rear drums will stop better than the same vehicle with rear Discs, I argued that point a bit seeing as how all new cars have rear disks, but one can see the logic behind this, you have alot more surface area to be contacted and alot more pad contacting the larger surface area on a rear drum car. But Kaz your saying that the stock 69 Disc set up is just not enough then? What about upgrading to the 66 4 piston calipers, which I think mandates a spindle replacement as well. My friends Mach has the SSBC 4 wheel disk kit on it and its a manual kit, but i have driven drum brake cars that stop better than this thing. We have improved on it, but it still does not feel that great ...We have 1500 lbs of front line pressure and 900 lbs on the rear I believe...we have turned rotors and put on new pads and saw a drastic improvement, in that the car will actually lock the tires up now, but you still have to really get down on the brakes to make them stop. Mike
  16. This may be a silly question, But why did you fellas not remove all of the suspension complnents and brake lines and all other associated stuff? I would think you would get a more complete blast job.....And whats the big deal with using sand as a blasting media, seems everyone wants to use something other than sand....I know you dont use sand on the body panels, but underneath and inside the car should be a gibbon....I can see using the sode, you can wash it out and it disolves and you never see it again, but the garnet sounds like its as much of a mess as the sand from what I hear, he stated above that every time you roll it on the rotissary that more of it falls out. I had my car blasted with sand underneath and in the engine bay, but did all the inside with the exception of the trunk area by hand, and it turned out great, I then wiped it down with a tach cloth and blew it off with air, and POR 15 it....seems to be sticking fine to me. So whats SO bad about good kiln dried quality sand?
  17. I have a Question for all the folks doing a brake conversion. #1. Does upgrading to the NEW Cobra Brakes really provide a noticeable difference over the STOCK single piston brakes on our MAch's, or it it just for looks? I have a 77Trans Am also with STOCK single piston calipers and the damn thing weighs 4000lbs which is heavier than our MAch's, and the brakes work so well you can just touch the pedal and the thing will throw you through the windshield LOL. I have never driven a Mach with Stock Power Disc brakes, but if they compare to the Trans Am braking system I will be happy when I get my car together. #2. If the Cobra brakes are better whats it really cost to upgrade to them? #3. is it going to be easier to just buy a complete kit, or spend some time hunting for the parts to put a kit together.
  18. I'm with Buckeye, we did not use respirators, but considered it. We then came to the conclusion that with the limited exposure it wouldn't be an issue. Not to mention as state above, there was little to no smoke. When I was a kid, we melted lead all the time to make weights and I'm still here. (But my wife says there is something wrong with me, so....) Do as I should and not as I do. Oh yeah, by the way, I got Chip Foose's signature today on my quarter panel that I removed. Ha Ha! Mike
  19. Ok I got 9 Videos up on youtube now, and the quarter is not back on yet LOL we are doing it this weekend, but you can see some of the other stuff. Click on my profile that is associated with the links and you can see all nine of them. Mike
  20. We were running the stock springs and KYB Shocks on the rear....We are swapping to a 5 Leaf reverse eye in a bit tho....gona get all out stuff from opentracker racing. But the car is getting a new set of Coys Rims in an 18" size and some lower profile tires Mike
  21. This is a Picture of my friends 69 with MAg 500's and BFG's. you can fit a 275/60/15 under the rear but you have to roll the fender lips or it will rub when you hit big bumps or have a pass in the back seats, but it fills the wheel wells. My pic is too big, I will throw them into an album.....The tires on the rear are MT Street Et's, they are 275/60/15's, and like I said if you roll they lip they fit with no rubbing. Well it let me add a pic, guess they are not too large let me know if you cant see them and I will make an album Mike
  22. Ok I am putting up a few more videos. Mike
  23. No problem....The reason I was asking about the BOV is because I got this stuff new from a Friend that works exclusively for Ford in their Special projects division, and he sold me both gates and the BOV as a matched Set that would work for a Twin Turbo Application which is what I was doing on my 77TA at the time, and I trust that what Tom Says will work, WILL WORK haha. But im sure you could get your own BOV of which you will only need 1 really if your blowing both turbos into One main pipe and into the carb hat or injection system, what ever the case. I was only asking 50 bucks for the BOV if you did decide you wanted it. The gates and the BOV will support and Control up to about 850 to 900 Hp with out boost creep....I was only really looking for 500 hp to the ground with 10 lbs or less of boost, and with the turbos I had that was not going to be a broblem. I could have done upwards of 900 hp with them, but I did not have the bottom end to handle that LOL. Any how let me know what you want to do, they will not go on Ebay for a few weeks, but all the other crap will be on there tonight. Mike
  24. Would like to get 250.00 for both of them. That is Half of what I paid for them New. I think I still have the paper work that came with them. But not sure, have to look. Ya interested in the BOV as well? I can get pics of the stuff for ya if you would like. Mike
