  1. You sure it's a 9 inch? If it truly is, then someone swapped that in at some point. That's a plus! Makes a guy wonder what else was done. Where are you located? That thing looks like it could be a pretty big project... like my car. lol
  2. I'm a fan of the safety of stopping well. But that's just me. The brakes are always first whenever I start restoring an old car. There is no point in other improving performance in other areas if you can't control it all with the brakes... like I said, just my opinion. I'm not sure if rack and pinion qualify really in the same way, though, compared to HP boosting upgrades.
  3. I bought all my stuff from http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/ John and Sherri are pretty nice to work with if you have some special request like I did for my tie rods since I am using 70 spindles instead of 69.
  4. The information on a title is meaningless as it varies from state to state and there is a set number of options for them to choose from. Sportroof is likely not an option to choose for body type. It's nothing to be concerned with.
  5. Sounds like a fun project. Please post some pics!
  6. What's the pros/cons of the urethane vs the butyl?
  7. Is it just glued on or is there a hole a "stem"(technical term haha) presses in? I haven't looked very close at mine.
  8. There is a limit to how much we can upload, I think. I'm not sure if it's the number of pics or the total size. I have been uploading everything to photobucket lately.
  9. Somehow I missed your reply from awhile back. I'll PM you.
  10. Any tricks to locate them in a fold down seat application? I'm getting ready to do this... might have to tack them in place and check the position with the interior panels.
  11. You have to love when they stick the needle in the wound to numb it up.... that was probably the most painful part of the entire ordeal. I'm glad memories like that fade away.
  12. What do those look like from the topside? It appears they protrude through the floor?
  13. Believe it or not, it didn't hurt all that much. It happened so quick! I knew it was a matter of minutes until I got light headed and broke out into a sweat because all I could see was white tendon, which I thought was the bone, at the time. I ran in the house to clean it up... after taking a couple text message polls, I was outvoted on whether to go to the emergency room or not, so I drove myself to the hospital in my little 5-speed Ranger. I guess I hit the tendon right in the middle... not sure what the surgeon did, but I couldn't bend my thumb for a long time. Personally, I think they just opened it up to inspect it and sewed me shut. Beware of those power tools!
  14. And that is how the car still sits for the most part because of an accident I had with my Dewalt 4 1/2 inch angle grinder and a cutoff wheel. Cut my thumb to the tendon. Had to have surgery and therapy to get it working again. My hand is still pretty weak from not using it for 2 months. Now it's time to start working on the car again!
  15. Reassembled major body panels in order to help align quarters. I couldn't get my doors to align so I went on the hunt for good original doors and found a pair 10 minutes away for $300. One is a very nice original and one has had some well done repairs.
  16. New tail light panel, rear cross brace, and quarter extensions. New trunk floor panels and stainless fuel tank.
  17. a 70 coupe from California with a rough body and no title was sacrificed to save my Mach. I needed all the frame rails. All new aprons, shock towers, radiator support, export brace... Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics...
  18. First pic: look in the marker light hole and you can see the original quarter panel layer. In this pic, you can see how the lower part of the original quarter was cut off, but the rest is still there. Also, the trunk floor is made of fiberglass. Total devastation
  19. It's definitely been an uphill adventure with this car, but things have leveled out and a ton of progress has been made. Let's see how these pics turn out. The tear down - rust, rust, and more rust
