  1. jack up the front end and lay underneath. you'll see what needs to be moved, dropped, etc. your steering components, the cross member, starter, etc.. all drop out with a few bolts..nice and easy. plus you get a great look at the bottom end of your motor while it's out. use some penetrating lube to loosen anything that doesn't look like it's been moved recently. give it a few shots for a day or two. i did mine in an unheated single car garage with no lift in about 45 minutes start to finish.
  2. would you include Light's for the turn signal indicators? offer a brushed metal finish instead of just black or wood grain? a good clean set of muscle/vintage looking gauges with a plug n play adaptor, something we can keep the blue light color with.. for comfortably less than a grand would be stellar. did you post a link to your gauges yet?
  3. awesome. thanks for the pics man! i replied to your email.
  4. Cool. Thanks for the input! looks like i spotted a few in the classified board.. lets see if they pan out!
  5. who's got OEM scoops they'd like to unload? i'm still deciding on mach vs boss style but i want to see what options there are if any cheers z
  6. Do you still have the scoop? could you send pics to zach.cossATgmail? also if you could give me your zip code or give me a random estimate how much to ship to 15601 PA
  7. I've read some mixed reviews about the aftermarket hood scoops. i'd like a factory one, but so far haven't turned one up. how about aftermarket? who's bought one from Laurel Mtn, Mustangs Unlimited etc and what did you think? cheers z
  8. i dig it. i was going to do mine that way, not those rims in particular.. but the full on black out. i decided it looked too much like a new car..too plastic. i'm a huge fan of the antichrome set up on bikes and cars..but i put up a picture of the blackout car and one with a lime gold/hood black out up on the wall of my office for two months and by the end of two months.. i was still more visually interested in the lime/black/chrome so that's the route i'm going.
  9. Lookin to buy some of this stuff pretty soon - i want to get the body done over the winter - anyone have any of the items on the list?
  10. bump - I added some more parts to the list - i tried to edit the list title but it didnt work
  11. if the pending deal falls through let me know.
  12. right now it's a stock 69 grande coupe 302 4bbl edelbrock performer manifold, flowmaster exhaust kit the interior is wrecked... but i'm going to hold that off till last suspension - i'm thinking of one of the full kits - i dont mind the way it handles for the driving i do with it - but the rotten bushings and worn out parts need replaced front disc rear drum power brakes power steering exterior parts are in good shape minus some missing chrome and some bubbling on the doors
  13. Hey gang! I sold my Jeep CJ. I have 5K to play with for the Mustang. Now all you pros give me some advice to spend it! I really want an elimiantor hood - should i get the special hinges for the glass hood? My CJ had a fiberglass tub and regular doors, hood etc.. what are the mustang hoods like? I'm going to get all new weather stripping, I want a good all around suspension kit for sure, and I need to redo the interior, add a stereo... The engine and trans are in great shape for now.. so i'm thinking get the exterior done, then suspension/steering/brakes/ then interior and after another year or so i'll do the engine up all purdy like any thoughts from the guys and gals that have been down this road? I know i could spend well over 5K on any one of those groups.. but what suspension kits does everyone like? I'd like to just see what everyone else would do with the $$ i'll be posting some wanted ads for misc parts soon so keep your eyes peeled there if you've got some good stuff to get rid of. or send me some PM if you see something in what i've outlined Mustang aside - i'm pretty torn up over selling the CJ. I've had it for seven years, rebuilt nearly everything... I decided it was just a money pit after i Just Emptied Every Pocket time and time again.. but man it was so pretty..
  14. http://s928.photobucket.com/albums/ad130/zach_coss/mustang%20parts/ here are a few pics of some work that was done along the inner lip. let me know if anyone is interested, want to make an offer etc.. im just going to hang it on the wall of my garage if nobody buys it..
  15. Parts needed for a 69 mustang coupe i'm in Greensburg PA - travel to Marietta Ohio and Warren Ohio frequently so i can pick stuff up if needed. passenger door passenger fender lower front valence I need the stainless steel strip that goes below the windshield I need the Driver Side drip molding trim and quarter window trim I'd like two of the quarter emblems from a fast back - the ones that match the 69 twist on gas cap boss style hood scoop. Let me know what you've got - send pics to zach.cossATgmailDOTcom cheers - Z
  16. awesome! thanks.. i saw something in my google searching with new TMI panels that have brushed aluminum inserts - they're listed for the 69 but i haven't seen one yet.. anyone have a link to their catalog or anything - the main company site doesn't have it.
  17. Does anyone make a new deluxe door panel with provision for speakers? my doors have the hole for speakers, my ratty panels have clean holes - but none of the replacement panels i see mention it? anyone have a source for them? who has some experience with interior kits? who offers the best bang for the buck?
  18. I'm about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh - my inlaws live in Warren OH. might be out that way for Turkey Day
  19. anyone looking for a plain jane hood - I.E. no scoop. let me know if you are, and you would like pics - $300 OBO
  20. very cool. that's what i plan on doing with mine - how did you get the wood grain off the part? i did the clock side and the door panels with scrapers, heat guns, various chemicals.. nothing seemed to really work without dubious amounts of elbow grease...

  22. I dont recommend getting too excited about the frost fighter kit. - i had one in a CJ hardtop...didn't hold up too well..i think i only got two seasons out of it.. those two seasons it did work really well though! maybe i didn't prep well enough because the elements started peeling and corroding quickly.
  23. I've been looking through the search.. not finding exactly what i'm needing.. I was looking through the NPD catalog the other day... came across a picture of my black finned Ford Motorsports Valve covers - it specified them for 86- 90 something i think 302...YIKES do i have an 80's block? so i started looking for id numbers - found the one on the distributor and 'googled' it - mustang monthly says its the Boss distributors have C80F-12131-A ....i've not got a boss.. How many parts across how many years are bolt on swappable? I know with Jeep parts from 46-86 can be swapped around... could i still have a 60's block and have the 80's valve covers? is that number only for boss distributors? I haven't looked at the block code yet.... before i jack the thing up and pull the starter i figured you guys would be able to clear my mind a bit.
  24. it's a San Jose car... it may indeed have a taste for burritos ...:euro: thanks for the input folks- i'll try cinching down that hose at the thermostat housing and checking the fluids and hit back if the issue persists. Rad cap is new, oil and coolant don't look tainted... i'll psyche it out eventually..
