Print Dad 58 Report post Posted October 23, 2017 Hello All, It seems as though the car season is over and the Mach is resting. Things have been a bit tuff here My wife had a knee replacement about 10 days ago and a few days after the operation - he leg swelled up about double the size. No serious issue, clots or anything - but we are up every 2 hours 24/7. To make things a LOT worse - -went to the bank, withdrew some $$ for the month ( recently retired). Walked next door to the bank and went into a small variety store - - - I purchased a few things and paid with my nice new money neatly in an envelope which was in my front pocket. I paid for the items, turned and walked about 20 feet when I realized I don't feel the envelope. I checked - yup no envelope. Gone in less than 15 seconds - - I must have dropped it and someone picked it right up. So $900.00 dollars gone. That could have paid to rebuild my rim blow and the steering box. A prettyty large sum for a retired teacher LOL On well - - someone had an early birthday present - - LOL I was upset and pretty ticked - -but I hope whoever picked it up can use the money. I realize things could be worse - -but I sure could use a little break LOL Be well all - - -Sam (aka Print Dad)
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted October 23, 2017 OY! I feel for you Sam. At this moment I'm subbing a high school health class and watching a video which said most retired folks wish for good health over anything else including money. That certainly doesn't help the sting of the lost/ stolen $900, but I thought chime in and let ya know I'm pulling for you.
bigmal 225 Report post Posted October 23, 2017 Sounds like a bad period. Can only get better. I hope calma shines on the person who took the money. I'm sure a some point down the track the will feel the burdon of guilt. On the bright side you're retired. I've got another 5 years to go and look forward to it. Soo sick of working.
