Floridastang 13 Report post Posted August 30, 2015 I am trying to find the source where I can get the most vacuum form my Cleveland motor. I want to run vacuum from that source to the vacuum canister for the operation of my air-conditioning system. My current tap does not provide enough vacuum to operate the motors. Thanks for your help.
Ridge Runner 1,113 Report post Posted August 30, 2015 i believe the vacuum originally came from the back of the intake .The nipple that goes to the brake booster should have a small nipple for vacuum to the dash controls and to the canister .
Ridge Runner 1,113 Report post Posted August 30, 2015 A little correction ...the vacuum comes from the back of the intake to the canister and from the canister to the inside dash controls .
Rsmach1 71 Report post Posted August 30, 2015 Also check to be sure the canister is functioning properly, just like a brake booster there is a check valve. Here is a video on checking it. https://www.musclecarresearch.com/content/testing-ford-vacuum-canister Edit, if your problem is due to a large cam and just not producing enough vacuum at idle Hella is just one company that makes vacuum pumps for heater/ac controls, the Hella is like $130 from Summit.
