69R-CODE 25 Report post Posted November 3, 2014 All, I bought what I assumed was the correct front windshield for my 69 fastback. However, I have now realized that its the Sun-x (Tinted) Carlite replacement. My original windshield glass was clear and is scratched up (not usable). The door glass and quarter window glass is clear and is in great shape. The fastback rear glass is original sun-x. I have that glass and its still in great condition. My questions: 1. Is the sun-x carlite windshield glass the only replacement carlite glass made? Looking at websites, that is the only kind I can find. 2.Would you try and send the sun-x glass back and be out the freight and cost to get a clear glass from PS Auto or Autocity? 3. Or, just leave the sun x windshield and keep the clear side glass? Will that look funny? 4. Or, Replace all side glass with new sun-x and not be original to the car? Just looking for options. Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted November 3, 2014 I replaced clear windshield with a Carlite a few years back. As I remember, Carlite didn't make clear and also the tint is different.
BuckeyeDemon 211 Report post Posted November 4, 2014 I replaced mine with an untinted. I haven't felt at all like I'm going to be blinded.
