bryonbush 85 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Here's where im at: New circuit board and voltage regulator. made sure the pegs weren't grounded out on the metal case. Where i was: Temp and oil pressure gauge was a no go. The temp gauge was maxed out. previous owner ran new wires (red) from the two sensors and ran them into their own separate dummy gauges separated from the dash. i tried to put the original wire for the oil pressure back on the sending unit and checked the gauge and nothing. wanted to try the same with the temp wire, but he cut that out. thinking that the wires were shot or botched somewhere along the line, i cut the original wire for the two gauges right behind the clip to do a tie in for the new (red) wires that went to the dummy gauges. still nothing. Here are some pictures of what im working with to help give you a better mental pic. the white wire that is ran to the dummy gauges was spliced into a three wire connector with one big red wire going to the starter area, one to the carb and one to the oil pressure. this is where he spliced the white wire into the three wire harness to give power for lights in the dummy gauges.[/img] this shows the new red wire that goes into the engine temp gauge. danno 128 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 What is your objective? To get the factory gauges working again? Do you have a voltmeter that will also check ohms? I can walk you through the testing process.
bryonbush 85 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Yes, the only thing I'm trying to do is get the original gauges to work. I do have a voltmeter as well.
