RPM 1,190 Report post Posted July 10, 2014 14- 15 yrs ago I had my FMX rebuilt, then it sat in a cabinet until recently. I believe I have two (identical) stock torque converters for it. I do remember getting one back after the rebuild, where the other came from is lost in my grey matter. I do have a C4 on hand, do the torque converters interchange? Does anyone know what the hand written markings on them pertain to? Any help is appreciated. Bob
maxum96 32 Report post Posted July 10, 2014 Not interchangeable between a C4 and FMX. No idea on the writing.
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted July 10, 2014 Thanks Maxum, didn't think so but thought I'd throw it out there. Bob
cappy1.rm 10 Report post Posted July 10, 2014 I have a flexplate and torque converter for a c4, and I think I have the same parts for fmx, would have to look,,
Max Power 74 Report post Posted July 11, 2014 FMX converters are different. Period. Shop any catalog and see a myriad of stall speeds and options for a C-4, then go to the FMX section, and frown at your options. Hell, for how many of these things that were thrown away, try and find a good used pan on ebay. Took me 6 months.

cappy1.rm 10 Report post Posted July 14, 2014 Oh it was a feeble attempt at humor.... I have a couple of flex plates and torque converters c4 and fmx one each. I was playing the mix and match game for a while trying to rid my car of a vibration from tranny area.
