sportsroof69 13 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Apparently my car decided I haven't worked on it in a few weeks, so it needs some attention. I just got in it and the brake pedal went to the floor, so I checked the fluid and the front part of the reservoir is empty. It seems like I've heard the the smaller front reservoir actually goes to the rear brakes, and the back reservoir goes to the front brakes. Is that the case? SA69mach 39 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Yes, that is correct. A FORD special moment, for sure. Found a puddle anywhere yet? The Mustangs just cant do without attention. They let you know...
sportsroof69 13 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Thanks man. I thought that was the case, but was unsure. Nope. Right now it's a mystery problem. I check the brake fluid every time I change the oil, and it was full, yet there have been no puddles under my car, the master cylinder is dry, and all the wheels are clean. I'm still guessing wheel cylinder.
SA69mach 39 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Well, a sure fire way is to put some brake fluid in it and lightly pump the pedal. You ought to find the leak that way....
ashleesmach1 28 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 the fluid may have gone into the booster. Check your brake booster!
sportsroof69 13 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) Booster??? Wtf is that? Haha... My car makes like 6" of vacuum at idle. Power brakes are a no go. Edited June 10, 2014 by sportsroof69
buening 63 Report post Posted June 10, 2014 Check the front floor board in case it leaked through the pedal rod into the interior. About the only place for it to go unless the brake fluid fairies suddenly got thirsty
sportsroof69 13 Report post Posted June 11, 2014 If you met my car, you'd believe in brake fluid fairies too.
ashleesmach1 28 Report post Posted June 12, 2014 If not the booster then it could be the proportioning valve or distribution block
