couple of suspension mod questions

Recommended Posts

OK guys finally I got some courage and started to take apart the suspension by my self

gonna go baby steps disassemble

the question are:

should I buy the boss tower reinforcement plates?

send them to build them?

craft my own?

dont bother to install them?

also since I got my brace out should I make a shelby cowl reinforcement plate?

also I have polyurethane bushings for the SR because Bruce at Suspension.com recommeds them I want to use your opinion on that

By "boss tower reinforcement plates", do you mean like the one in the attached photo?

You can buy them from fwsanco on fleaBay for about $33. I plan to purchase mine from him. Search for "67 68 69 70 Mustang Shock Tower Brace Boss 302 Mod". Definitely easier than trying to fab one and not terribly expensive.

I'm not familiar with the "shelby cowl reinforcement plate". Do you have links or pictures of this?

I contemplated using them on my 69. Because my front end is pristine, using a Monte Carlo bar and export brace, subframe connectors, convertible inner rockers and one piece seat riser, it would be plenty stiff for street use. Your application should depend on car condition and use.
