Heater Control Cable

My car came to me with the heater cable missing so I bought one from Mustangs Unlimited. It came with two cables connected with a molded "H" piece of plastic. But I only see one control on the heater assembly. Does anyone know what the other cable is for? Am I supposed to cut it off?

My non AC car has two cables. The AC car only has one cable. Was your car a factory AC car?

I believe one is for the tempture; warm/cool and one is for the mode; A/C, defrost, heat...etc. There are 2 levers for these and a tab on the end of each one.

That is correct LilMike, my 69Coupe does not have a/c & that is the way mine is.

My car is has AC so I must have gotten the wrong one. I wonder if I can just use the one to do the heat and cut the other off.

If you want to get the proper one, I will buy that one from you because I need a new one for my 69 Coupe. CJ'S sells the proper one for $23.19 & is part #-HCS6.

the h piece screws to the back of the heater control mount the long cable goes to the temperature control on top the the plenum and the short cable goes to the heat defrost door flap
