69gmachine 15 Report post Posted May 2, 2013 I received my gauges back from the Tachman. The 140mph speedometer conversion is beautiful. I hope someday I can make use of it by entering in the Silver State Classic. The Tach is not what i expected. With no electrical power it defaults pointing straight up at 4K. As soon as power is applied it zeroes out, so it will read correctly when the engine is off but the key is on. I guess it's just annoying, but he doesn't tell you that it will work this way until you receive it. Everyone else seems to be using the same movement as most aftermarket tachs that points to zero when power is off.
mustangmike6996 34 Report post Posted June 2, 2013 4k is kind of odd, i have seen many tachs rest at 1-2k in the off position though

69gmachine 15 Report post Posted June 2, 2013 When I get around to installing them I'll take some pics. A couple of weeks ago I fell off a ladder and did some serious damage; broke a rib and suffered a pretty deep puncture wound on my left forearm. I haven't touched the car in a while. The good news is that gravity still works just like it always has.
mark69sportsroof 31 Report post Posted June 3, 2013 I had my entire dash and clock re built by Auto Instruments. Looks better then new, tach and clock were missing parts. Tach sets at bottom left side slash mark which is 0 when off. I have yet to install them.

Are you going to be able to make Carlisle this weekend?
69gmachine 15 Report post Posted June 4, 2013 I've been looking forward to Carlisle since I came home last year, but unless a miracle happens I will probably just rest at home :(
