MustangGT 11 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 Looking for a set -- but don't want to refinance the house to pick up a pair. Seems some people out on the "Inter Webs & FleaBay" think they were made of gold and only included in 1 of every 20,000 Mustangs made in '69.
jkskinsfan 19 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 Hi MustangGT. I'm pretty sure that I have a set somewhere in my garage. I'll take a look around and see if I can find 'em. John
MustangGT 11 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 Thanks. I appreciate it.
Angel 24 Report post Posted September 15, 2012 Are you talking about the headlight bucket? Or the actual adjusters(long screw that goes into square plastic clip)? If you need the adjusters, you can buy them at Autozone for cheap.
Mike65 475 Report post Posted September 15, 2012 I believe he is talking about the unit that went over the head lamp to properly the head lamps. They came with every new 69 Mustang.
MustangGT 11 Report post Posted September 15, 2012 I am looking for the ones Mike65 described. Image below taken from FleaBay listing
jkskinsfan 19 Report post Posted September 15, 2012 Sorry, MustangGT. Couldn't find 'em. The last time I remember seeing them was about four years ago. I certainly wouldn't have thrown them out, so I'll keep looking. They have to be around somewhere. I'm assuming these are what you are looking for. Angel 24 Report post Posted September 15, 2012 Whoa. I have never seen those. I have replaced the lights many times and I even have the car disassembled right now, not once have I seen those. Where do they go? Behind the bucket?
Pakrat 1,043 Report post Posted September 17, 2012 Whoa. I have never seen those. I have replaced the lights many times and I even have the car disassembled right now, not once have I seen those. Where do they go? Behind the bucket? They are not a permanent part of the car, they came in the trunk on new arrivals and were used in conjuction with a headlights aiming machine which you pretty much never see in a shop these days rendering them useless unless it is for the finishing touch to your otherwise concours restoration. These days most of us just park about 20-25 feet away from a wall on a level surface and aim the lights so the center of the beam is about 2" below the measured height of the headlight bulbs. jkskinsfan 19 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 Hi MustangGT. Finally located the Headlight Aimers. They weren't in the garage at all. Found 'em by accident in a box on a shelf near my computer. Are you still interested in them?
