1970 with built powerglide, any experience?

I have an opportunity to pick up a well built power glide. Anybody know what to expect when installing 1 of these? Would I have to modify the transmission tunnel? Thanks.

Are you talking about the two speed General Motors transmission? If so what are your plans with the car? Racer or driver? You should not have to make any mods to the trans tunnel. That car was built to have room for a C6 so there should be no problems. Bruce

Street legal racer. Only for cruising and the occasional run here or there. Going to run 3.00 gears and 28 inch tires. Turbocharged 357w.

Not too sure it won't be a dog off the line till it spools the turbo up with a 3.00 rear gear.

Im running the tall gears because of the turbo. The glide has a brake and from the research Ive done it should perform pretty well. Lag should be minimal. So far Ive seen that no modifying would be needed unless I want need to run a shield.

If you're making power, a glide is the way to go for the strip.

Look into Quicktime for a blowproof bell to mate up the PG to the windsor (RM-6045).
