LiLMike 42 Report post Posted September 19, 2011 I'm in need of a set of dollys for my upcoming project. Ran across these on ebay. What are ya'lls opinions? They look pretty good to me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3984Q2em1438Q2el2649QQitemZ150531984550QQsspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWAXQ3aIT
LindenBruce 27 Report post Posted September 20, 2011 Those will work, as long as you're not doing suspension work. I bought a length of 2" tubing and some real cheap rubber swivel wheels from Harbour Freight and made my own. They bolted up where the front lower control arms would. LiLMike 42 Report post Posted September 20, 2011 Thanks Bruce. No, no suspension work. I'm removing the interrior and installing an American Auto Wire harness. In the process, I only want to remove things once, so I will be installing the 70 bolt in glass, new gauges, classic auto air system and repairing the seats. I just need to move the car away from the wall during the day since my wife parks her Jeep in the garage at night. Need something I can move the beast by myself. coz 108 Report post Posted September 21, 2011 I own a set and love them. To make the lifting a bit easier make sure to have 30lb or more air in the tires.
LiLMike 42 Report post Posted September 22, 2011 Thanks for all the help guys. I decided to go with these. I figured since this project will take a few months, the car will be sitting in a cradel rather than on two round pieces of rubber. Probably better for the tires and I will not be taking the car on and off alot so these will work. Paid $119.95 with free shipping for all 4 on ebay. MAD IN NC 21 Report post Posted September 22, 2011 Thanks for all the help guys. I decided to go with these. I have a set of this style and would have given them to you for shipping.... These are junk compared to the "pump" type or the two round rubber types you state.... The wheels on the pan type will go square and they will lock up - China is the foundry for these types.... I truly hope you have better luck than I did.... LiLMike 42 Report post Posted September 22, 2011 Thanks Mad. I'm pretty sure these will be ok. Like MachMike said, grease the wheels. I keep my garage floor pretty clean so I don't forsee any problems. I'll let you know if I run across any.
