Map Light Switch

There is a 3rd terminal on the switch itself that has power to it when the switch is on the off position, turn the light on and there is no power to this terminal. The wire coming off of it is about 12" long and I cannot imagine where it should go. Thanks.

I think it's a trigger wire that runs down to a switch that closes when you open the glove box. The switch makes it so that you can have the light on manually or automatically when the glove box opens. Bruce

I am having the same issue. My map light/clock is wired correctly but won't light unless I jump it. Will the glove box switch fix this?

If the light won't turn on with the switch, then likely the switch is bad assuming you have tested it for incoming power. The glove box switch won't fix the map light switch, although it might allow the light to turn on when the glove box is opened only.
