Rewind351 11 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 This weekend was a big one for me because I finally brought my 69 Mach1 to my house from my mother's garage where it has sat for the last eight years. I'm looking forward to taking her back to the condition she was in 2002. I looked for a Mach1 for 2 years all over the country with my Dad and finally found "Sally" in California. I bought her from an elderly gentleman that restored mustangs (this was his 15th restoration). She is all original aside from the carb, 351w, PS, PB, A/C, auto, Royal Maroon Exterior. I actually found the original build sheet under the back seat too. The eight years of sitting took a toll on her and she was horribly dirty. I've started to clean her up and noticed a ton of stuff I'd like to do to her. I look forward to posting on here and soaking up as much info from you guys as possible. The guy that restored her had some professional pictures taken and she was in a Official Ford licensed calendar a few years ago. I'll try and scan in the picture soon and post it. Here are a few older pictures: Sleeping next her Sister: 1 Xde4hewkew reacted to this

69RavenConv 286 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Very nice looking car. That's one of my favorite colors for '69. My Dad drove a 69 vert that color back in the 70's

Rewind351 11 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Very nice looking car. That's one of my favorite colors for '69. My Dad drove a 69 vert that color back in the 70's Thanks! I'm really glad to be able to have her back with me but I'm torn between wanting to keep everything original or modifying the car a bit. I'm not sure how much the value of these cars goes down when you start changing things on them. I have a hard time leaving my cars alone!

unfrozen1969 11 Report post Posted September 16, 2010 That is one of my favorite colors as well, and your ride looks really nice. There are lots of options for modifying, and some are not real intrusive as they are mere bolt ons and can be removed when you please. Sometimes it is better to put your energy into making the car cleaner and nicer versus making it different and unique. The car is a classic for a reason, but that is just my opinion and you can obviously do what you like. I guess it comes down to having a vision of what you really want, and then making whatever changes to the car to get you there, ie: concourse versus street, drag versus everyday driver... Thanks for the photos, please post more when you get a chance. Bill from Canada
70mstang 11 Report post Posted September 16, 2010 I believe as long as modifications are fairly easy to reverse there would be no impact to the value of the car in the eye of a purist. The value I place on mine is how much I want to drive it and have fun in it. I'm one of those who will never sell my car so the dollar value means little to me.
