Good 3 Point Seatbelts?

Recommended Posts

Need to put setbelts back into my 70 fastback and would like to get some reccomendations on a good 3 point system. Interior is all done - so a little nervous about poking holes in headliner. Any recommendation on a good (reasonably priced) set up. Would also appreciate any installation tips. thanks

Hi, There is a company on the web called Andover Restraints. They have a very good website for information. Their prices are also very good. I put a set in my 69' no problems, fit and operate great. You can use all of the stock mounting bolts. Our cars already had the upper atachment point, so all the hard work is done. Very easy install. Scott

The retractor is hidden.

The bottom mount was cut out and reversed as it is too far forward.

It is now just in front of the rear panel.

I would use a dropper on the top mount next time as the belt rubs slightly on your neck if your short my wife informs me.

It isn't too bad though and she can easily live with it.

if your getting them from Andover Restraints, buy a version with sleeved or cable buckle ends.

i bought the cool, retro style 3-point conversion belts from NPD with aviator lift style buckles that fit into my console and they are a pain in the ass to use.

here is a installation instruction for the julianos belts. (http://www.julianos.com/retract_3point.html)

i think it should be the same for the ones from Andover Restraints

Looks like in Julianos trhat the bottom mount does not use stock location but has a bracket that bolts near the retractor. That might be a little easier than moving stock location. Jimmy stang was is the dropper you are referring? My wife is short also.

It brings the loop that the belt runs through down 6" from the top mount.

It just lowers the top mount so the pull at your shoulder, it's 6" lower than the roof mount pull-off. It's just a piece of seatbelt material.

I had the option when buying belts to buy dropper or non dropper.
