kazlaszlo 10 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Does anyone know if there is an adjustment in the power steering system, '69 Mach 1. I rebuilt the control valve and installed new hoses. My steering is too hard in idle, not until I get going does it work. Any suggestions?? Thanks Kaz
foothilltom 33 Report post Posted January 27, 2010 Consulting my shop manuals, it discusses several possible adjustments and repairs: * Control Valve Centering Spring Adjustments * Control Valve to Power Steering Cylinder Hose * Power Steering Pump To Control Valve Hose * Steering Gear * Power Steering Pump * Power Steering Control Valve * Power Cylinder Sounds like a lot of stuff going on here. Am happy to take a screenshot of the relevant pages if you'd like. Tom

kazlaszlo 10 Report post Posted January 28, 2010 Thank You Tom. Magician gave me a website, pretty good stuff. I will read that see if I can get somewhere. Perhaps a rebuilt pump. After all, my car was not operating for the past 30yrs or so. The steering pump is one thing I have not replaced or rebuilt. I see what I can get going. Thanks for the offer.
