S code 69 13 Report post Posted October 23, 2009 There is no way to do it. they made these cars for Umpalumpas or something, I'm always amazed at the lack of room everytime I get it mine.
69RestoRod 10 Report post Posted October 23, 2009 Yeah a smaller steering wheel and tilt seat. These cars seem to be made for those about 5'9'. I'm about 6 inches taller and the smallerr wheel and adjustable seat made it tolerable. But' I plan on dropping the seatpan when I repair my floorpans,

69RestoRod 10 Report post Posted October 24, 2009 Here's an article on moving the seat pans to get more room. http://www.mustangsplus.com/tech/seat/index.html Much cheaper than a tilt wheel and can be done in a weekend. Depends on if your floors are detailed underneath. Otherwise most of the welding isn't near your new paint.
69390 10 Report post Posted October 24, 2009 aftermarket tilt column is the other answer but they are not cheap.
Kiwi John 10 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 There is no way to do it. they made these cars for Umpalumpas or something, I'm always amazed at the lack of room everytime I get it mine. My car had two spacers in between the two mounting flanges that spaced it down, I took the bolts out and slide them out then tightened it up again. This made a huge difference. Check to see if yours has spacers in between...the spacers were the same alum pieces that the bolt goes through, they just added an extra one in between. I wonder if all cars were this way? mine was. It extended the seat rails back IIRC.

bnickel 10,004 Report post Posted November 17, 2009 all fastbacks are supposed to have 2 spacers, all coupes are supposed to have 1 spacer....hope that helps some. you could possibly get away with no spacer by using flat washers but you'd have to investigate that possibility on your own
