Brake System light is on fulltime

This just started - when the ignition switch is on - the red Brake System light comes on - stays o when the car is started and is not effected by braking.

 

What do I have here? A wiring glitch??

You must have a leak in your brake system. The switch is located on your distribution block, if there is a change in fluid pressure between the front and back the switch will come on. After the problem is fixed the switch shuttle has to be centered again.

I'd reset the switch and see how it goes, but yeah... there's a reason it came on in the 1st place. Mine sometimes comes on when I use the linelock.

OK I found the distribution block - located on the fender wall next to the brake cylinder -

There is a connector on the top of the block with purple/black wires coming out - and going to the Brake System light, I assume -

Do not see any "reset" switch

The Car has been sitting all winter with battery connected/disconnected while working on convertible roof cylinders and relays for lights and horn.

Took it for a run yesterday and did not have any braking issues

LOL, except in this case I think if someone knew enough to search for "shuttle valve" that they may already know the problem and how to fix it.:001_huh:
