burritoboi5 10 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 Is it just when slowing and stopping or also when the car is idleing at low RPMs? My guess is that a carb rebuild may help you out.
1969mustang302 10 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 yea it is just when slowing down or stopping, when it idles like when i start it something it seems to idle fine, but like i said slowing down or stopping just seems to kill it, and its not a rough stop, i didnt even realize it shut down till i couldnt hear it anymore

1969mustang302 10 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 yea its a C4 automatic, and i have a edelbrock 4 barrel carb, not really sure of the exact spects the guy that had it before us put it on
daveg9 10 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 I had/have that problem when I added power brakes to the car. Extra power being pulled by the vacuum for the brakes and transmission was my thoughts. Cranked up the idle for a short-term solution. Agree with previous posts that the carb might need adjusting for a long-term as mine idles high right now. 1969mustang302 10 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 yea i just added power brakes, so i should get my carb re-built? from what i can tell it looks new, is it possible that a cleaning might help??
Mufflerbearing 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2007 It seems to me that you might have a vacuum leak or your new power brakes are stealing all of your vacuum. But then again like the others have stated it could be your Carb. The fuel diaphragm in the primaries. Just some things that might help you out. Good luck Tim

1969mustang302 10 Report post Posted July 11, 2007 well i put a new fuel pump on it and i boosted the RPM's up some, and that seemed to fix it so maybe that did the trick, thank you for your help everyone, if you have any other solutions that i may not know about please let me know
