I finally saved up enough money to buy a welder. :punk:

 

It's a millermatic 175. I've never welded before, but I've already been able to put down some pretty good beads.

sweet. i have one of those on my must have tool list, along with a drill press and a bench vise. i haven't had a vise in so long and it gets pretty old trying to hammer on something holding it between your legs.

Cool, thats one thing I'd love to have some day too, you can only get by so far with duct tape and JB weld.

I don't know about that, I've done some pretty creative stuff with JB weld. My old man used to buy it in small cans. We just called it epoxy. :punk:

 

Congrats on the welder. I know when I started using the gas instead of flux cored wire, it was like night and day.

Welding has been one of the more satirizing things of my Stang rebuild and the go kart build... and one of the more aggravating as well.. hehe.

 

When you get it right it's great and when you don't it's "what the heck"?

 

Practice and getting the power/wire feed settings right for what you're welding are the key for sure.
