Door Tag

i need some help. anyone know the best way to clean a 1970 Door tag, the sticker kind. i ASSUME you all know what im talking about, not the pop riveted 69 on down but the stickers Ford started to use in 1970. some friggin idiot PAINTED OVER MY DOOR TAG WITH FLAT BLACK PAINT, and now i cant read any info about my cars options, just what the VIN told me. one website said to use thinner, but I think they screwd up and were talking about the pop riveted ones instead, because thinner would ruin the sticker.

The car in your picture do you own that one? REason i ask is that i remember a guy on the VMF saying he was pretty much given a shelby that looks just like that.

no sorry i dont own that one, it was on carsinbarns.com and i really really like shelbys and thought that it was the saddest shelby ive seen *tear*

use paint thinner or mineral spirits and you'll be fine. DON'T use lacquer thinner or will destroy the sticker

Hand cleaner cream and couple of cloth rags have worked for me.
